Very excited to announce that as of April 2016 Gemma English Equine Dental Services will be taking over from Equine Dental Technician, Rupert Smith.

I have already had the chance of meeting some of his lovely clients and their horses and I look forward to meeting many more.

A Bit of Background
I studied FdSc Equine Dental Studies at Hartpury College (part of the University of the West of England) and graduated in 2013. Since graduating I continued my education and training by joining the British Association of Equine Dental Technicians (BAEDT) as a Student Member. In March 2015 I passed the British Equine Veterinary Association (BEVA)/ British Veterinary Dental Association (BVDA) Equine Dental Technician (EDT) Exam to become fully qualified and insured to carry out Cat 2 Procedures.

I partake in regular CPD run by the BAEDT and work closely with BEVA/BVDA qualifed EDTs to gain valuable experience and knowledge. Through working with other dental technicians I have been able to work at Army Barracks including the Household Cavalry and the Kings Troop of which I feel very privileged.

My Services
Since 2011 I have been developing the practical skills required to perform a high standard of work in a safe and caring manor. Gemma English Equine Dental Services has been established since August 2013 and prioritises animal welfare with having the utmost importance. All my tools are safe, modern and cleaned thoroughly between yards. Biosecurity is a vital consideration and I take special measures in order to reduce the risk of spread of disease and infection. It is particularly important to me that I continue to spread the word of Equine Dentistry and all its fundamental needs and benefits. I take great pride in being able to deliver a high level of service to both horse and client. I endeavour to continue to develop good working professional relationships with Veterinary Surgeons so that the horses welfare is never compromised. My approach to carrying out routine dental treatment is methodical, calm and thorough to ensure that all horses are finished to the same standard and are as relaxed as possible.
